Baby Lisa’s Medical

Baby Lisa has been diagnosed with Lobar Holoprosencephaly (HPE) which is a mild form of a potentially severe situation. Lobar HPE is a rare brain malformation where the two hemispheres of the brain do not fully separate during early pregnancy and Possible absent CSP (waiting on MRI results). With her condition she could have or not have a variety of things wrong when she is born, such as a feeding tube, developmental delays, being smaller than the average kid (her head is in the 1% tile) so we know she will be a bit smaller, seizures, closely set eyes (which she has) and many other serious issues. There is a spectrum range of HPE, alobar, semilobar, and lobar, with lobar being the more mild. The prognosis for lobar HPE varies depending on the severity of the malformation. Individuals with milder forms may live long and relatively normal lives, while those with severe forms have a lower life expectancy.

With Lisa’s diagnosis I’m considered high risk. When Lisa is born she will spend quite some time in the NICU to be monitored, this will have us in Portland as i am opting for a c section and want to give birth where she can get the best care right away. Already during this pregnancy we have been to Portland twice this month, for her additional testing, causing my husband to go on leave from work making funds super tight right now until we get some assistance figured out. Fulfilling this goal will assist us with not only the costs we have on a normal day to day basis during our time of uncertainty, but will also cover us during our out of pocket stays while undergoing tests and procedures. We are asking for help may it be by sharing or donating every little bit helps, thank you for reading.
