Baby Luna
This is Luna. She was born early on 3/23/23 at 3lbs 11 oz and has Trisomy18.
When we got her diagnosis of Trisomy18 they told us she probably wouldn't survive the pregnancy and started sending us to specialists an hour away from home. She survived.
Then we were told she probably wouldn't survive birth. She survived.
Luna has a hole in her heart, small cleft lip, small cleft palate and her trachea isn't connected to her stomach. All of these can be corrected.
Two days old, she needed surgery for a feeding tube until she is big enough to get the surgery to connect her treachea and stomach. They AGAIN tell us she won't survive long enough to even start the surgery let alone the surgery itself. She not only survived, there were zero complications.
Fast forward, Luna is 7 weeks old, stable and doing well. She's still in the nicu, she now weighs 4 1/2 lbs. We are currently waiting to hear from another hospital about heart surgery for her because the hospital she's in doesn't have the specialist needed to do it and the one they originally were going to send her to is now saying despite how well she's doing, they won't fix her heart because she's diagnosed Trisomy18.
During all this we are staying in a hotel an hour from home to be with her and may possibly have to go even further for an unknown amount of time. Doordashing and savings has paid for everything so far but the hotel cost, food and travel involved with juggling everything so far away from home is becoming very difficult to keep up with.
Her next move may be 3 more hours away. She's a warrior and proving everyone wrong and we want to help her continue to do so.
Anything helps. Even just sharing the link! So if you can't donate please just share anywhere and everywhere you can!
Luna is a warrior. Let's show her she isn't fighting alone. She has done everything they said she wouldn't and couldn't do and no matter what it takes, we will continue fighting as well!
