Baby Mummert IVF Fund
We want to introduce ourselves to those joining our journey for the first time. David is a local government employee, and I am an office manager for an IT and AV technology company. David and I both grew up in the Midwest and we met during middle school, so many years ago. We have been together for over ten years, love to take road trips, go fishing, camp, kayak, and spend time with our 5 furry kids.
My husband and I long to bring a child into this world and have a family. When David and I got married in 2008, we didn't know that starting a family would be so difficult.. We weren't prepared for the emotional toll of infertility and the effects of time, and most recently, the pandemic on our journey. We want to experience all that parenting entails, including the joys and the challenges.
Because I am of “advanced maternal age” (over 35), our infertility doctor recommended IVF to give us the best chance to build our family. We anticipate starting this coming winter, but no later than early spring 2023.
Unfortunately, IVF is not covered under insurance, and the upfront costs are staggering–about $20,000. There is so much about this process that is daunting, but it will all be worth it to have our chance to bring life into this world and complete our family.
About 1 in 6 couples struggle with infertility, and sadly, our story is not unique. We hope to finally beat the odds after all these years and expand our family.
We are deeply grateful for any contributions made to this fund or through the photography sessions sponsored by www.jmpsomd.com. Even if you cannot donate, we appreciate all the positivity and prayers! Please feel free to share this page, and follow along with us. It truly takes a village, and we are thankful to our families, friends, and communities for supporting us through this chapter. We hope to keep you updated as soon as possible as we begin the pretesting required to prepare for the start of our cycle this winter!
