Baby Scarlett's Battle
Anna and Josh's baby girl, Scarlett Faye is having some very serious medical complications.
Last week, at under 1 month old she was diagnosed with a rare form of Nephrotic Syndrome. With hopes that the diagnoses is due to an underlying viral cause, doctors have been searching for answers as they have treated so few babies with this type of Nephrotic Syndrome. They await genetic testing that may help to identify the cause and give treatment options and direction, this may take 2-4 weeks.
She was transported by Life Flight to Seattle Children's Hospital on Saturday. Anna and Josh are grateful for their tiny room at the hospital but hoping to get into the Ronald McDonald House soon - and expecting a lengthly stay.
Sweet Scarlett is expected to begin dialysis if she is unable to get rid of fluid on her own. She is dealing well with a lot of pokes and tubes throughout the day and fighting hard through it all.
We are hoping to help with medical costs (the life flight alone was $28,000 and not covered by insurance) and the other costs involved with being so far from home with a sick baby. Anything helps, we will post updates as they are received.
