Two weeks ago, our beloved Seba's husband left her. Before he left, he made sure that his car was repaired (not hers), and tore down one of the exterior kitchen walls and said he would replace it. Instead he left her with no way to go, and no wall on her home for the winter. He has also left her with half the income and all the bills and debt.

Thanks to the kindness of family, friends, and strangers, she has managed to get enough to buy a clunker car that gets around, and has almost paid off the attorney needed to divorce him. However, that still leaves her without a wall on her home, and a mountain of bills.

A local construction company has offered to waive all the labor costs to repair her home, and has put up some plywood for now so her home isn't entirely exposed to the elements anymore. Despite their generosity, she will still need to pay for materials, as well as a plumber and electrician to run appropriate utilities back into the kitchen.

It's so hard for Seba to ask for, or accept help. She has always been the helper. But right now, she needs ours. The wall itself is estimated at roughly $7,000 once we factor in materials, electrical, and plumbing. Any amount earned over that will be to helping her buy groceries, keep the lights on, and provide for the needs of her organic farm until she gets back on her feet.
