Back to México
(To read the description in English keep scrolling)

Hello everyone, I'm Gaby Portilla and I want to tell you that it was very difficult for me to dare to ask for support with our trip back to Mexico.
I have always been a person who gives and gives and helps everyone but they do not open up to receive, this is not healthy for anyone and it is something that I have wanted to change in myself for a long time. I have worked on it a lot in therapy, in personal development and still, it is difficult for me to ask for and receive help. I feel like I don't deserve it or that there is always someone who needs more help than me. This leads me to think things like “by what right do I ask for help, I should be able to solve it myself” or things like “I got into this mess by myself now I have to get out by myself”.
Today I want to change this pattern in my life and I want to open myself to the possibility of receiving support simply because someone feels like supporting me, because they feel grateful or simply because they love me or love us.
1 year 4 months ago we decided to come to the USA for Joshua to be born and to "try our luck". Fate put us north of Idaho (very far from the truth) and things did not turn out as we initially expected. So all our plans and calculations were impacted. With great effort we managed to stay afloat. In November 2021 Josh was born and Koru and I became mapas (mother and father) and postpartum has been the most difficult journey and transition of our lives.
I have gone through very strong waves of depression that have added to loneliness (we are very isolated here with no family near us) and migratory mourning. I never thought I'd miss Mexico so much. Although many of you (those who follow my work) have seen me online, teaching, sharing and smiling, many days my reality has looked very different from that: loneliness, darkness and a lot of fatigue.
Raising a human child not only requires conscientious, loving, responsible and committed mothers and fathers (I thought that would be enough), it requires an entire tribe.
Part of this intention to ask them for help is to connect and feel that we are not alone, that we are part of a tribe, that there are people out there who love us and are willing to lend us a hand.
We decided to return to Mexico for various reasons, the first of which: family. I am not referring only to the blood family, I am referring to the Mexican family. It is true (and now I know it) that there are no two like Mexico and that we Mexicans have a special magic and warmth. We return to Mexico because Mexico is our home and we have an important mission that is not over yet.
Due to the specific needs of our family (Josh - a highly sensitive baby, Jake and Lua - two highly sensitive dogs), we have to divide the trip into two stages: a first part by car with stops and another by plane (we are going from the north of Idaho to Mexico City).
We are selling all our stuff, including the car, and we are going back to start over in Mexico. However, it seems that even selling everything will not be enough. Additional expenses keep appearing to be able to achieve it.
I am infinitely grateful that you have read this far, and if you decide to share some of your resources with us to help us achieve our return trip, I wish the universe and the great spirit multiply it by 10 for you and yours.
I send you a hug and see you soon in Mexico.
