Band Trip to Rome
Hello,
My name is Armani Garcia, and I’m a proud senior at Palm Springs High School. Over the years, this school has become more than just a place of learning — it’s where I’ve found my closest friends, discovered my passions, and grown into the person I am today. While I’ve built connections across campus — from sports teams to student groups — my heart has always been with music.
For the past four years, the band and orchestra have been like a second family to me. We’ve rehearsed under the sun, marched through countless performances, and shared moments I’ll never forget. Now, in my final year, I have one last chance to take part in something I’ve always dreamed of: our band’s international trip — this year, to Rome, Italy.
This will be my first opportunity to travel with the band. It’s my senior year and my last chance to be part of this incredible tradition. I’ve worked hard — in school, in the community, and in service. I completed the Marine Corps Devil Pups Youth Training Program and am proudly involved in the Palm Springs Police Explorer Program. After graduation, I plan to audition for the Marine Corps Band and pursue a career in law enforcement — serving and protecting the same community that raised me.
We’ve been selected as one of only eight bands in the United States to perform in the New Year’s Parade in Rome. Even more incredible, the American Pope is expected to attend, making this a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our band, the Spirit of the Sands, has a proud tradition of representing our school and country on the world stage — from Spain to Ireland — with 13 international tours over the last 25 years. I want so badly to be part of that legacy.
I haven’t had the chance to join previous international trips, but this year could be different — with your help. Please consider supporting me on this journey so I can proudly represent my school, my band, and our community in Rome. It would mean the world to me
With all my gratitude,
Armani Garcia
