Batsirai Legacy Fund
Dear Family and Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that I share the heartbreaking news of the passing of my dear friend, Batsirai Neliah Kasu, who left us far too soon on June 10th, 2025 at just 46 years of age. She leaves behind her two beautiful children, Anashe (12) and Kai (5).
Batsi was a remarkable soul—intelligent, warm, generous, and full of life. She had a unique way of lighting up every room she entered and touching every life she encountered. Her life was tragically cut short by a brain tumour, leaving a profound void in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her.
If I had a magic wand, I would bring her back in an instant. Since that’s not possible, I can only take comfort in the belief that God has called her home for a higher purpose—one we may not yet understand.
Tragically, Batsi had just lost her own mother only a few months ago—a loss that deeply wounded her. Now, with her passing, her family is experiencing unimaginable grief and emotional devastation. The financial toll of two funerals in such a short time has added to the burden they bear.
I am reaching out to you—our community, our village—to ask for support. My goal is to honour Batsi’s memory by helping provide some stability and comfort to her children during this incredibly difficult time. Batsi devoted her life to her daughters, raising them with love, discipline, respect, and the importance of education.
If you are able to donate—even a small amount—it would mean so much. Every contribution, no matter the size, is a gift of hope and care to two children who have lost their world.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your love, prayers, and support. Batsi was like a sister to me, and I know she would be the first to step forward if the roles were reversed. Let’s come together to show her family that they are not alone.
With gratitude and love,
Lesley Owusu
