Battling Mycotoxins

My name is Blayne McGuire & I am 22 years old. I am running this campaign in hopes to recieve relief & answers that may not only help me, but my family, friends, & clients who were also affected by the negligence of a business & property owner. There needs to be an increase in awareness on what our environment can do to an individuals health. I plan to seek further medical assistance & pay towards the mountain of medical billing I have already recieved. No offense to anyone & their degree, but speaking from personal experience...doctor's tend to misdiagnose or do not look for the root cause of your symptoms. I feel for anyone struggling with their health due to an environment that contains bad air quality & structural damage caused by water intrusion... I have and still to this day am struggling with my health, but surviving the struggle God has set in front of me. I know there's a reason, so I will continue to fight & speak up for proper recognition to the dangers of mold... More people need to understand there is more to that word...

Here is my story summed up the best I can; After graduating High School in 2013, I moved out of my parent's home & into my now fiancés apartment. I took an AM/PM Business class at Central Tech where I began pursuing an associates degree through OSUIT. Once I completed those courses, with a remaining 5 geneds left, I began cosmetology school at Sand Springs Beauty College in hopes to finish those 5 geneds while I worked as a stylist after completing State Board. During cosmetology school, my father settled a 15 year dispute with a workman's comp. case against AAA. He chose to invest in my mother's career & my soon to be career choice. They began building out a space for a salon at 51st & Yale in Tulsa, OK. where my mother's 1st salon name would resurface after 20 years. Penney Layne Salon was the 1st Aveda concept salon to open in Tulsa in the 90s. She had to close her business though after her 2nd child was born. Things happen, a family was growing, & other obstacles got in the way. Resurfacing her name as a business again, was a beautiful goal, a family business in the making. They began the building out during Nov. 2014 I would go as often as I could to assist with anything they needed help with, as did my 2 younger brothers & sister. In Jan. 2015 my fiance & I signed on our very 1st home. I was beginning to struggle with my health a little, but could not understand why I never felt good. I pushed through it, went to school & spent hours watching my mother work (like I always have, but from a different perspective this time) & helping care for the salon as needed. Not feeling well caused me to miss several days of school, falling behind on my required hours... Causing me to force myself to stay later on the days I could & come in on Saturday's, extending my schooling multiple months to fulfill those hours. I graduated late Sep. 2015 & of course went straight to my mother's salon to work along side her. By midNovember I had began noticing these bumps on my scalp, but thought nothing of it. Still not always feeling my best, but I was trying to start my life as a young adult & blew it off thinking I may have just overworked myself that day. Christmas came & my fiance popped the question, we were finally engaged after almost 4 years. Wedding planning was becoming an exciting thought. Till over the next few months, I began noticing a handful of clients struggling with the same bumps on their head. In Feb. 2016 we called in an air quality specialist, who discovered a small leak coming from pipes that belonged to a Nail Salon nxt door to us. He gave us the okay to work again. Yet, we were beginning to struggle with our health more & more. My parents called in a bug guy, who informed us we had a wood burrowing beetle that was attracted to mold. But the concern was not the beetle... it was what it was attracted to. When the 1st inspector removed the damaged cieling tile, it gave this beetle access to our wood filled salon. The week following my 21st birthday in March I began having major stomach pains. It went on for weeks, exceeding over a month... I had finally had enough, I thought I was dying. I went to the hospital. They ignored me when I tried suggesting I had been exposed to toxic mold. Ran mutiple tests & diagnosed me with a Salmonella infection. This Salmonella infection went on for almost 3 months, anyone who does their research should know a normal healthy individual should struggle with that infection for 2-3 weeks. Any longer & there is an underlying problem causing a weakened immune system. The hospital had informed me they had a gastroenterologist on call while I was there & if the pain continued I was to follow up with him... My sister recieved her letter of acceptance for the following school yr as a jr to attend Central Tech for cosmetology...the family business was going to grow even more. My mother decided to get a second opinion, without any corporation from the landlord, she pursued another air quality inspector. Liberty OHM came in & ran several tests during their inspection. Discovering mold in the bathroom & walls located in the back half of the rental space, noting it would take costly structural repair to fix the damage that had been done from water intrusion & a cement like barrier that needed to be placed in the alley behind the building to avoid further damage being done to the building's structure. When they turned our AC unit on, our #s not only doubled, trippled, they quadrupled. Mutiple toxic black molds appeared in the salon space & my Esthetician room at high levels. We closed our doors to our family business due to a safety hazzard. When we reached out to the incompetent landlord, the individual came back with a unlawful eviction & took illegal possession of our things. Helped themselves to our personal property as though they worked hard & spent the $ on it.... even stole mutiple things to sell or gift to other individuals. We had a mess on our hands at this point.... Our livelihood had been taken from us without a fair fight or any notice. We regained entry to the space & moved our belongings into PODS. No need to go into further detail, you can assume & understand by what I have already said, that was definitely not an easy task with this incompetent owner. The individual of course immediately advertised the space for lease without settling the dispute or proper remediation of the toxic hazard & has since leased the space to a new tenant... When you have your livelihood taken from you with no notice, it's not easy to get back on your feet... especially when your health is constantly knocking you down. I have since tried odd jobs here & there.... but due to my symtoms worsening, the odd jobs have even become more difficult for me. I attempted to see the specialist & discuss my exposure, but after a colonoscopy & upper giscope he informed me it was just IBS & sent me on my way... Went & found a new doctor to see... A raffle & donation was set up to help me raise $ to submit a full mycotoxin urinalysis panel to RealTime Laboratories Inc. in TX. My results confirmed our suspicion to the cause of our health struggles... I had been subject to bad air quality & a building that contained sick building syndrome. I tested positive for Trichothecene Group Macrocyclic & Gliotoxin Derivative mycotoxins. Discovered my thyroid & Aldosterone levels aren't functioning properly for a woman my age... I grew to a size 8/9 while at the salon & now down to a weight & size 3, which I haven't seen since 7th & 8th grade... The doctor recommended I take 50,000 units of vitamin D3 a wk, mutiple other supplements & scripts, along with a strict caveman diet. Costly expenses to just get in the right direction to recovery... I am now at a point with my weight, that I am losing all my muscle... the symptoms have progressed worse than ever & I can no longer live like this... I want to seek a new medical professional who has an understanding as to what I am up against & hopefully recieve relief... but mainly more answers. I feel my body shutting down on me & at 22, I'm praying I can get my strength & health back to where it should be. I can not thank you enough for just taking the time to read this. I ask for prayers & good vibes while I'm on this journey...for not just me, but my fiancé, parents, 3 younger siblings, & the rest of our family, friends, & clients.
