September 4th, 2013 was a pretty life-changing day for the Henrys. This year will be 10 years since I had a stroke and I wanted to do something to celebrate. Celebrate? Yeah. Celebrate.

Celebrate getting to be on earth a little longer with my family.

Celebrate that my story wasn't over.

Celebrate all the people who supported us through the really tough times.

Celebrate all the challenges and blessings God has given us and how He redirected our path.

Celebrate where I am now because of that path being redirected and

Celebrate how much I've overcome in the last 10 years.

10 years ago, my mode of wheeled transportation was a wheelchair, I graduated to a walker, years later a 3-wheeled bike and less than a year ago, I made it back to a 2-wheeled bicycle. On Labor Day, September 4th, Sam and I will be doing a 35 mile bike ride on the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail Because he's been beside me through all the ups and downs, he'll also be beside me on the trail.

One of the unexpected blessings that God brought to us was my job with PaperPie. It's unlikely that I would've been interested in working from home until I needed to because of my health. I love getting books to kids, and especially to those who might not otherwise have access to them. So as we ride 35 miles, we're also going to be raising money for books for Indy Book Project. They're a nonprofit organization that gives books to the kids who need them the most. They're excited to receive our donation of new books for holiday giveaways so parents can choose Christmas gifts for their children. As with every book drive we do, PaperPie will match donations by 50% so we'll be able to stretch those funds even further.

We have some big goals!

35 miles - We've only done a 28-miler and a 33.5- miler and those were 10+ years ago.

$3500 in donations - That's $100 per mile, resulting in over $5000 in books for as many kids as possible in Indy this Christmas.

Will we break speed records? No.

Have we been training? Some.

Will we walk some? Possibly.

Will we take breaks? More than likely.

Will we finish? Yes.

Will it be worth it to deliver hundreds of books to Indy Book Project in October? Also Yes.
