It is with the greatest of sorrow that we share with you that our dear friend and colleague, Dr. Bin Shen, has passed away.

Bin was widely known for his exceptionally warm and engaging manner. Everyone who met him immediately appreciated his generosity, true kindness and patience, and boundless curiosity about people and his work. He was the epitome of infectious optimism and inspiring can-do spirit, universally loved and admired, and his untimely passing leave an emptiness that will be difficult to fill.

Bin leaves behind his wife Monika, daughter Sophie (6), and his parents Shen Guangli and Lu Qingnian, who reside in China. The family is most grateful to all those who rendered service to Bin in his final days, especially the competent and caring faculty and staff at Stanford Health Care. 

This fund is for those who wish to help establish a college fund for Bin's daughter Sophie, as well as immediate assistance for Monika as she and Sophie carry on without Bin by their side.
