Birthday Fundraiser

🎂 My Birthday Fundraiser: A Fresh Start

This year, instead of throwing a big birthday party or asking for traditional gifts, I’m doing something a little different.

If you know me, you know the last year has been incredibly difficult. Since my car accident on November 2, 2025, I’ve been dealing with ongoing injuries, pain, exhaustion, and medical appointments that have completely changed what I’m physically able to do.

I was also recently diagnosed with SLE lupus and am dealing with a spinal injury that has made working near impossible.

At this point, I am medically unable to work, but the hard part is that my bills haven’t stopped just because my body has.

I’ve continued trying to work when I physically can (unfortunately injuring myself more each time) because I still have rent, utilities, food, transportation, expenses for my kids, and everything else that comes with keeping a household going.

The reality is that I’ve been stuck in a cycle of trying to make enough to cover what’s due, falling behind, catching up a little, and then getting hit with another expense. I’m exhausted physically, mentally, and financially from constantly trying to stay above water.

So for my birthday this year, my biggest wish isn’t a party, presents, or anything fancy.

I want to catch up. I want to breathe. I want to feel financially safe again.

I am a single mom of three kids with no help financially and serious medical issues. I’m raising money to help get caught up on the bills and expenses that have accumulated since my accident, pay down some of the debt I’ve been carrying, and rebuild an emergency fund for myself and my kids.

I know asking for money as a birthday gift can feel unconventional, and honestly, it feels a little strange for me too. But I would rather be honest about what I actually need right now than receive things I don’t need.

If you were planning to get me a birthday gift, contributing to this fundraiser would genuinely mean more to me than anything you could buy me.

Even a small amount would help. And if you aren’t in a position to give, sharing this fundraiser or simply wishing me a happy birthday still means so much.

I’m not looking for a handout or trying to live beyond my means. I’m trying to give myself and my kids a little financial breathing room while I navigate a period of my life where my health has made supporting us the way I normally do much harder.

My goal is simple:

Get caught up. Build an emergency fund. Stop living in survival mode. And start over.

Hopefully, when my next birthday comes around, I can look back at this chapter and say, “We made it. We’re okay. I can finally breathe.”

Thank you for reading, sharing, donating, or simply being someone who cares about me and my family. ❤️

Here’s to making 27 the year I finally get a fresh start.
