Dear Friends and Family,

My name is Brendon Griffin.  I am the son of a Teacher and a Principal and in my senior year of high school at Spencerville Adventist Academy.  I have spent my entire life participating in music and service for others. 

This year I have the opportunity to spend my spring break helping others on a mission trip to the island of Puerto Rico.  Partnering with Spencerville SDA Church, Spencerville Adventist Academy has decided to send almost 30 students to help aid in the cleanup, repair, evangelism, and children's programs in the wake of the devastation they experience with hurricane Irma.  

With this mission trip, I will have been blessed to be on 5 mission trips in the past 5 years.  Each trip I go on, I find that I am often at least one of the people that often receives a huge blessings.  Last year on my trip to Africa, I was able to help build a school dormitory and help lead out in a multi-school music festival.  Things that I enjoy doing are sharing my skills in construction, VBS praise singing, music/worship leadership and just plain hard work.  But this trip will only possible because of the help from people like you. 

Our trip to Puerto Rico is estimated to cost $1,650 per person.  Like most fundraising efforts, I have a goal to meet.  Currently my goal is $800 by the first of January.  This goal does not leave much time, especially when you consider mailing letters back and forth.  However, this is a great way to come up with a last minute tax deduction if you still need one, as 100% of your donation is tax deductible.  As with many projects in the past I find it is only fair that if I am asking others for help that I do my part to help too.  For the past several months I have been working at school and 100% of those funds has been going directly to this project.  If I receive more than the needed funds for my trip I will then take those funds and help someone else so that others  can share, receive, and experience the blessings of being of service to others.
