Brent’s Big Surprise
If you know Brent, you know one of his biggest joys is surprising those he loves with something amazing. There have been surprise trips to theme parks and weekend getaways. Sometimes it’s just a little something from the store he said he “couldn’t get” but bought anyway to surprise you later. Or a big birthday or Christmas present you never saw coming but really wanted.
Well, Brent has stage 3 cancer and needs help paying for living expenses during treatment, support for Clark and their 3 cats, and paying off student loan debt. He recently had emergency surgery, during which they found the tumor, and has had lots of expensive testing since then. Last week he had minor surgery again to have a port put in for chemo, which he starts this week.
He’s trying to work his night shift job while undergoing treatment, but he is going to need days off for chemo and recovery. And he still has a lot of student debt he’s been working for years to pay off. That is the main focus of this fundraiser: clearing as much of his debt as possible so he can undertake treatment without worry about the additional financial burden. Any extra funds, should we be lucky enough to raise them, will go towards medical treatment, rent, and groceries.
I am expecting to run this fundraiser for a week or two only, and deposit the funds as a big surprise directly into his bank account.
So if you know him, please keep it a secret, don’t ruin the surprise!
Every little bit helps! Thank you!
