Hello,

I am a friend and neighbor of Brooke (18) and Sydney (15) and I created this fundraiser for them. Their father, Troy, recently passed away tragically and unexpectedly. For years he had sole custody of the girls, but had no insurance, no savings, and no assets.

Over the last year and a half, Brooke and Sydney often stayed at our house when they lost power and/or water because the utilities bills couldn't get paid. Brooke's entire earnings from working 15-30 hours/week at Chick-Fil-A (over $5K) while still maintaining a high GPA at Chamblee High School went towards paying rent and bills. Friends, family, and neighbors often assisted with groceries.

Brooke just turned 18 two weeks ago, and in the midst of preparing for prom, graduation, and getting ready for college, she found out that she is next of kin and therefore, financially responsible for everything.

This fundraiser is to help pay for costs involved in cremation, funeral services, and any legal fees associated with closing his estate. Any additional money will go towards helping Brooke pay for college and to Sydney, to help pay for long-overdue dental and medical care.

Any amount you can give will be so appreciated by Brooke and Sydney and by those who are close to them, trying to help. Brooke and Sydney are now living with other family members, as they were within days of being evicted from their current Chamblee house. They are both in a good place, being well cared for by friends and family.
