This is our Buddy boy! He's not been feeling too hot due to a large cyst on his upper back right leg thats causing balance issues with his left leg and has recently been holding the left leg up to avoid putting pressure on it. It's been a challenging year but we are finally seeing a little light at the end of this struggle, but we are faced with an immediate issue to keep our old guy going. He was evaluated on 12/8 and we weren't prepared for the total costs of the procedure he requires. The vet said hes in damn good health for his age and only concern is this cyst/tumor. The presurgery work up is $830 for x-rays, checking his heart to ensure he's capable of surgery since he is 15, then surgery is $1290 plus a couple post op check ups. This dog has been with my husband since he left the Navy 15yrs ago and is his true wingman. We just can't pull off the costs in their entirety under our current circumstances. We desperately do not want to be left with the option of putting our boy down solely because we can't financially afford his vet care right now. This boy has too much life left and surely isn't done chasing squirrels, trips to dog park or the beach. He goes with us everywhere and we only want for him to live out his retirement as he should!
