Hi there- Ashley Blanchard here. Have you ever thought of the living conditions in Gautemala? Did you know that about a million to a million and a half citizens live in homes of Cornstalks or scavenged materials? I have been doing some research and I have found that studies have stated, when dirt floors are replaced with cement, it results in 13% less diarreah, a 20% reduction in anemia, scores 30% in language and communication skills for toddlers, and improvement by 9% in vocabulary. These results are due to fewer parasites in homes that contain cement floors. That's amazing right?! Just think about what could happen if we could some how provide real adequate housing for them? The number would more than double I'm sure! So what's the point you ask? Well friends, I would like to inform you that in April, it is my Goal to fly to Guatemala with my Cornerstone family and help build 2 adequate houses for women and children during our 1 week stay. To accomplish this mission I will need the help of my family and friends-  I will be needing $1,570 to make this happen. This will cover my plain ticket along with other needs to get there. I believe God calls us to help the less fortunate, the hurt and dismayed. His children are called to lend a helping hand to our brothers and sisters in times of trouble and hardship. We are the hands of God and it is up to us to allow him to work through us and in us for the good of others. Won't you help donate and be apart of this great work of the Lord?
