CU Engineering Botswana
Hi my name is Bill Doherty and I am a mechanical engineering student from Campbell University located in Buies Creek, NC. My fellow classmates and I have been offered the opportunity to participate in a week long trip to Botswana in Africa with the US Army Research Lab and EDGE (Ecological Defense Group). During our trip we will aid in designing and installing solar pumping systems to provide water to wildlife and surveillance systems for the pumps and wildlife at the watering holes.This opportunity will provide the students who volunteer valuable experience not only for engineering but working with different cultures.
The funds raised will be utilized to help offset the cost of travel that the students will be required to provide themselves. If additional funds remain after all the students' airfare have been purchased, remaining funds will be utilized for the next volunteer trip.
