Cancer Care Fund

Prior to Thanksgiving 2025, my big sister, Natalie McCandless was diagnosed with late stage Pancreatic Cancer. Natalie has spent her entire career as an elementary school teacher and has health insurance coverage through Dallas Independent School District. However, I recently learned that she and her husband, Chris, could use some help in funding the $6,900 out-of-pocket costs that she will hit through her hospilization and rounds of chemotherapy.

My big sister has always been the kind of person to care for others before herself. She has always been that kind of teacher to have spent money on her students before herself. Prior to this diagnosis, her husband Chris had a surgery and they had to sell his car to help pay the medical bills. I asked her today if she would not object to me going public with her diagnosis and circumstances. She agreed and would be so encouraged by friend and family sending their well wishes. We chose freefunder since 100% of the proceeds will go to Natalie and Chris without any crowdfunder fee reductions.

Our family knows that whatever happens, God's plan is perfect and our faith will carry us through. We know for certain that Natalie knows when God calls her home she will have a final resting place in heaven. We welcome any gift you feel led to provide in support of her care. Even if you are unable to contribute, we want to encourage you to share this with Natalie's friends, coworkers, family and students so you are aware and can message Natalie directly on her Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/natalie.mccandless.2025

Our family appreciates all the heartfelt prayers and well wishes. Natalie continues to see the positives in life as she has throughout her entire life. I'm so proud of her courage and strength through this fight.
