Hi all, my name is Lynne and I find myself in the strange position of needing help with medical and living expenses due to a very sudden and unexpected cancer diagnosis.

I'm the one who always helps others so it's uncomfortable for me to be the one reaching out. In November of 2022, exactly one week before Thanksgiving, I was diagnosed with an incurable form of cancer called Multiple Myeloma. The day after Thanksgiving I started chemo. I have been in isolation almost every single day since then because this cancer attacks the bone marrow, the heart of our immune system, before you even know you have it, making people with this cancer immunocompromised. This means not being able to work in the public, go out into crowds or do anything that could expose us to common viruses. A common cold, the flu, covid, or pneumonia can put us in the hospital, make us miss chemo treatments, or kill us.

Unfortunately, I cannot work right now (even though I would love to find a remote position to work from home). Realistically, the next step after my chemo treatment plan is a bone marrow transplant, meaning I won't be able to work until summer or fall.
