Car Accident - Pls Help
On May 20th, 2020 I bought my first car on my own using my own money. I worked tirelessly to save up and buy it and was excited to no longer have to walk and take the bus everywhere. I got in an accident on July 11th, 2020 for failure to control. Due to an undisclosed recall for the make and model of my vehicle, the steering wheel on my vehicle became loose while I was driving on the expressway and I hit the concrete median and another vehicle then the median again then the same vehicle again. I totaled my vehicle and the other vehicle. The other driver was thankfully okay but my shoulder is injured which makes working difficult as I do nails for a living. I am a safe driver and was not speeding at the time but my car has an electronic steering wheel and once it locked up it no longer responded to my steering and the car was out of my control. I did not know about this defect prior to purchasing the car and only found out once I was telling a friend of mine what happened and she googled and found that countless of others have experienced the same issues with the make and model of my car. I did not have insurance at the time because I'd just bought the car and thought I had more time to find good insurance that didn't cost an arm and a leg.
However, because I did not have insurance at the time of the accident the costs of the accident are overwhelming and it is growing increasingly difficult as I am already continuing to work through my injuries. This situation was completely unexpected and nearly cost me my life, and it is now putting me under extreme financial stress on top of moving into a new apartment 4 days ago. Anything that you can contribute even if it's just sharing this and keeping me in your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
