Car help - Kate n Josh
Hello friends,
My mom and I need help. I have been here in Southern Calif. since August, offering direct support to my mom, but I need to leave for Oregon this coming Tuesday and we ended up with a car repair expense we weren't expecting.
A little background info: She has various health concerns, is experiencing chronic back pain, has discomfort in her digestive system, and is having memory / vision issues. (She lost her driver's license last year due to confusion and vision problems.)
All the same she is capable of being independent -- cooking, cleaning up around the house, and taking her medication.
I have just wanted to get my mom on the road to self-suffiency that does not rely upon my presence. She is almost there, as she has a roommate moving in about July 10th. The roommate has agreed to drive (and help with other things my mom needs help with); the new roommate can drive, but doesn't have a car.
Personally, I need to get my life reestablished in Oregon where my friends are -- and that's where I currently call home.
Now for the hard part: I just found out this morning that mom's car needs a $2,000 repair. (I did research to find out if there are alternatives, and there are not.) After this repair, the roommate will be able to take the two of them to the store, doctor appointments, and some of the things they may enjoy doing together.
I cannot currently afford the repair, nor can she. Please consider helping, if you can; any amount you can pitch in will be helpful. If you have any questions please message me (or call).
There is no charge if you use Zelle: 541-636-0096 or [email protected] (my name will show as Joshua Scott Frankel). Or you can use Stripe here on FreeFunder, however Stripe will charge at least 2.9% for the payment processing (tipping FreeFunder is not necessary).
Thank you so very much,
Joshua "Blue" Frankel
