Care for Maxwell Littlefield

It is with a heavy heart and a sorrowful spirit we must share that Max's cancer is back after three short and sweet months of being cancer free, port free, drug free, radiation free and chemo free. During scans a week and a half ago it was determined he has three new tumors, one of them encompassing a lymph node.
Max also had a PET scan this week that showed the disease has NOT spread elsewhere, as this was our greatest fear.
July 9, 2018 he will undergo surgery to remove what can be easily removed, biopsy and place his medi-port back in. Once the diagnosis is confirmed he will begin a new chemo regimen for the next nine months as well as radiation.... again.
Max has showed ZERO signs or symptoms his cancer has returned. He has caught up in a physical delays he had left from treatment and has continued to shock us with his physical strength and determination. He has been pushing a REAL push mower around the door yard. He remembers the title of just about every single book we read, he can carry on in a real dialogue, he's striding and balancing on his bike with speed and deliberately searching out things to roll over, ‘jump' and go fast down. He can tell me he doesn't want his port back in and he doesn't want to do chemo again but just wants to visit everyone at clinic.
The goal of this fund is to come together as a community to support Sarah and Ryan as they nurture Max back to health without the worry and stress of Max's medical expenses. Sarah and Ryan are both self-employed and taken a leave of absence due to the nature and urgency of this situation.
Whether you know the Littlefield's because you've ridden bikes with them, hired Ryan for his plumbing work, benefited from Sarah's ASL interpreting services, hiked the trails on their property, or perhaps your child is friends with Maxwell, regardless you've benefited from their kindness, zest for adventure, and contagious smiles.
Let's lift their spirits so they can shine brightly for their son during these dim times.
