Chale's Champions
Dear friends and loved ones,
We are sad to share that Chale Ashley is in desperate need of some champions to help support her financially during this difficult season of her life. After contracting Covid about a year and a half ago, she has had to deal with multiple hospitalizations and intubations to stabilize her breathing. Unfortunately for now, the doctors are at a standstill with determining the best course of action to prevent her airways from closing. This has been a painful journey for her.
Chale was born with a genetic condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which certainly has exacerbated her fight against Covid. Anyone who knows Chale well (or has just met her) understands that she has such a caring and selfless soul who loves Jesus. She has extended such love and devotion to her students and to her son, Ashton, so we would like to ensure that they are able to return home soon to a love offering that will offset the financial burdens that often accompany health crises, including medical bills and other household expenses.
A GoFundMe was already created last year, and thankfully so many people showed support that the goal was achieved! The unfortunate reality is that Chale's isn't through the woods yet, and the medical bills are still piling up while she must remain in the hospital. Ambulance rides are not covered by insurance, so they are about $10,000. Other known hospital bills are $3,000 from one and $5,000 from another. Hospital bills from this year of 2024 are not yet finalized, but we can update with specifics. Rent alone is over $1,000 each month, so as you can see, she really needs our support. Whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated!
If you cannot give a monetary gift, please offer prayers for a good friend, mother, and teacher. Pray that the doctors will have the wisdom to act in her best interest in a timely manner. Her body is weary, and her lungs need much healing. It will be a long road of recovery most likely, so please pray for perseverance. Pray that her health improves, so that she can attend Family Camp at Delanco Camp. She loves it there, and she definitely wants to be back. Chale is strong even she is weak, because she has a Heavenly Father who loves her dearly.
Note: Pictured with Chale is her amazing service dog Johnson. He was an emotional support dog for Chale's grandma when she developed dementia. Chale moved in to help take care of her grandma for a year and a half. When she died, she had Chale promise to take care of Johnson. She kept that promise and not only does she take care of him, but Johnson has helped take care of Chale in more ways than one! Johnson is indeed an amazing pup, as he taught himself to wake Chale up in the night when she struggles to breathe correctly. He is literally her lifesaver!
Please be a Champion for Chale!
