Chips Last Chance

Hi, my name is Taylor Needham and I am the founder of Need'um Rescue, which is currently based in southern MD. We have been saving dogs from high kill shelter in a Texas for the past five years and bringing them up north to be adopted... we have never euthanized a single dog. Now, we're being faced with our worse possible fear... please help us save our boy, Chip.

We are running out of options and we are becoming desperate. This is Chip's last chance.

Unfortunately, after two years and multiple different homes, Chip now needs much more help than we can give him. We have posted quite a few times asking for an experienced adopter with a tall fence and we've reached out to multiple 501c3s.. each turned Chips adorable face away.

Chip is the sweetest 3 years old, 72 pound pitty you'll ever meet, who loves all humans, big and small. He hugs on everyone he meets and his favorite thing to do is snuggle on the couch. He's potty trained and crate trained and knows commands. He's almost perfect. Almost.

Chips only issue is that he has become very animal aggressive, which is sad considering he wasn't always this way. Unfortunately, he needs a great deal of training we just cannot afford right now (we are not a 501c3 yet) and taking a walk is now a huge risk because we are having difficulty controlling him, as Chip gets upset and begins yanking and biting on his leash or tries to wriggle out of his harness whenever an animal is nearby.

We have learned to be able to control him some, but until he is trained properly, he is a danger to the community. We have never euthanized a dog and we don't want to euthanize Chip. We genuinely love him. This can be fixed... we know it can.

Please help us, help our boy. He deserves a life much greater than the one he has... he just needs others to have faith in him, as we do.

This Texas boy is fixed, up to date on shots, and microchipped. He has been seeing a doctor for his skin as well. He won't have any medical costs added to his training, which we think will be around $2,200 for board and train.
