Our hearts are heavy as we announce the loss of our beloved Christine "Chrissie" Ledford who spent her final day with us Saturday, October 31, 2026, following a sudden and unexpected illness.
Chrissie, a pillar of the Oxford community, touched countless lives throughout her generous and loving years. Many of you knew her from the Oxford Market, where she was always the first to greet customers with her warm smile. She genuinely loved and cared about every person who walked through those doors and saw throughout life. Though, true to her nature, she wasn't afraid to express her opinion, filter free, nor chase away anyone causing trouble! Chrissie was a woman of true G.R.I.T. demonstrated through her tireless day to day work as well as her endless love for her children, grandchildren, and family at large. Chrissie demonstrated her wealth through a heart far larger than most knew extending her love to all those she met and knew.
Chrissie's final wishes were clear and concise. She did not want to have anyone saddened with tears. Instead, she wanted her enormous love of Oxford, the town she grew up in, the community at large, as well as all her family and friends, to be expressed by coming together in celebration with laughter, music, dance, funny stories, and memories...one big Oxford party in memory of our beloved CHRISSIE!
