There's a special little place in Tijuana that has meant so much to us over the last 10 years.

We first arrived at the orphanage in 2006. Just the three of us trying to learn what serving looked like away from the comfort of home. The family that created and runs Tijuana Christian Mission is like no one you've ever known.

Beyond the 100+ kids that they house, feed, clothe, educate, and encourage with faith and music, they also have a battered women's shelter, a red-light district and anti-trafficking ministry, they feed the homeless, and serve people of both the local dump and hospice. They are a special family, supported by amazing churches, doing Work that makes a real difference.

It's in this orphanage we met Selma, and Alex, and other kids that made us better people. The experience launched Alli into learning another language and going to school to learn more about world dynamics so she could help in more powerful ways.

Well, our trio is heading back to spend another Christmas amongst this incredible group of people. We'll spend time helping around the orphanage and around Tijuana to bring a little bit of love from all our friends and family to the staff, volunteers, and kids. We always find last minute things that could use help.

• Sometimes, there's a kiddo that won't get a gift because they have just arrived at the orphanage or don't have a sponsor yet.

• Sometimes, there's a great need for food and supplies for day-to-day meals or for their amazing family Christmas Eve dinner for the kids.

• Sometimes, there is a family that shows up in the women's shelter the night before without anything but the clothes on their back.

• Sometimes, there's something broken that needs repaired.

• Always, there is something that a little bit of love and money can help.

If you would like to donate to this trip as a part of your holiday giving, we'll make sure it's used well. We will document everything we do and send an update to everyone that contributed so you can feel like you were there too.

Any amount will be helpful. The kids Christmas wish lists are usually the little things we take for granted.
