I am Ciara's mother her story is long and I am sorry I just feel everyone needs to know the whole picture. When Ciara was born she had to have tubes in her chest. She was in NICU until she was 2 months old, then sent home on oxygen. She came off of oxygen when she was 2. We always knew there was something different about her. When she was 3 she was still not walking and we took her to children's for an MRI. We found out she had a growth in her spinal cord. At the age of 3 almost 4 she had to have back surgery. They told us she would walk then. She is 6 now and still uses a gait trainer. When the results came back on her growth from a biopsy, they could not tell us what it was. We have been to numerous doctor's at children's trying to find out what was going on with her so we would know what to expect in the future.  At, 6 years Ciara can not sit still, she has spastic movements, she can not walk without a gait trainer. This past summer she stayed sick and on antibiotics every month. We were invited to go to Huntsville to the Smith Family Clinic for Genomic Medicine, her appointment is in January. Insurance does not pay for this clinic so we will have to come out of pocket and it is close to Christmas, we have 5 other kids. The cost to meet the doctor's and discuss the test will be 298.00, the blood work will be an extra $10. I do not work due to all of Ciara's issues. In December we will have to go to children's for a test neuro site test. In January we have Huntsville on the 8th, Children's on the 2nd and again at the middle of the month for another MRI on her back. Huntsville does a break down of her genes, and has old many undiagnosed kids what is wrong with them. We have been looking for answers for almost 7 years now, and we are hopeful they can finally tell us something. We just need help covering the visit to Huntsville and help with traveling expenses for the other's. We are tankful for every thing that is donated and if you can not donate please share.
