Cline's Christmas Fund

My name is Angela Marxen, and as the holiday season approaches, my family finds itself in desperate need of a Christmas miracle. Life has thrown us challenges that no one should have to endure, especially during what is supposed to be the most joyful time of the year.

The heart of my story revolves around my beautiful stepdaughter, Summer Marxen, and her two precious daughters, Aria and Evelyn. Aria, the eldest at five years old, is a little bundle of joy who has faced her own battles. Born with a serious heart condition, she bravely underwent open-heart surgery and made a remarkably fast recovery. Her resilience has always been a source of inspiration for our family.

In stark contrast, her younger sister, Evelyn Cline, has had a tougher journey. Just two years old and already a warrior, she was also born with a heart defect. Since October 23, 2023, she has been in and out of the hospital, requiring multiple treatments and a feeding tube to help her gain weight. The emotional toll on Summer and her husband has been immense, but after three long months, we finally received the news we had been praying for: Evelyn was given a clean bill of health, and the feeding tube was removed. She is thriving now, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

However, as Evelyn’s health improved, another storm brewed on the horizon. The relentless hospital visits took a significant toll on both parents, causing them to lose their jobs and ultimately leading to homelessness. My son-in-law just recently found employment, but the financial burden of securing a stable place to live has left little room for anything else, including the joy of celebrating holidays.

This Christmas, my heart aches as the thought lingers that Aria and Evelyn may not experience the magic of the season. They didn’t have a birthday celebration this year, and the prospect of a gift-less Christmas weighs heavily on my spirit. My family and I are attempting to raise $400 to buy Christmas presents for them—something to bring a glimmer of hope and joy into their lives during this challenging time.

I write this not just for my granddaughters, but for the spirit of giving that defines the season. We are determined to keep the kindness alive and pay it forward once we are able. To anyone reading this, your support could change everything for our family. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read our story.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season filled with love and hope. Merry Christmas to everyone.
