Clyde's Recovery Fund
As many of you know, Dad/Papa/Clyde spent half of April in the hospital after what started as intense stomach pains turned out to be a gangrenous gallbladder. This resulted in sepsis which led to septic shock, emergency exploratory surgery & gallbladder removal, black esophagus, plus 3 days in the ICU on a ventilator. His hospitalization was further complicated by atrial fibrillation, blood clots / DVTs, biventricular pulmonary embolism, and topped off with CDiff (nasty hospital-acquired infection) to really make sure he'd one-upped everyone else in the hospital during his stay.
So what comes next after the dramatic hospital adventure? Clyde has recently been discharged to home but is still very limited in his mobility & rehabilitation following the extended hospitalization. He is unable to work (or get around unaided - yet, hopefully soon!) and is the primary physical provider of services for the business; and as a business owner of more than 40 years, he does not qualify for disability coverage or a source of supplemental income. Additionally, he is in need of extended home health and physical therapy services to help him get back to work, back to health, and back out on the sports fields to coach his grandkids.
The family is doing all we can to support them, but additional help is desperately needed to help cover the big bills like the mortgage and utility payments, plus all the little new medical and personal care expenses this has led to while he's in recovery. It's anticipated that it will take about 3 months for him to get back to feeling more like himself, so every little bit will help during this time. We appreciate and love you all, more than we can express - it takes a village and our family has been blessed with a strong and supportive one!
