Cofer Family Assistance
Please prayerfully consider how you might help the Cofer family during this time - both with their medical bills and with his loss of income over the next few weeks or months.
Russell Cofer had surgery on Monday, March 18th for colon cancer. There was a minor complication during surgery, in which they found that one of his kidneys was a pelvic kidney, meaning it was in his pelvis instead of where it should be. They had to move that kidney up and disconnect it from his colon before they could remove part of his colon. It was touch and go for a little bit, but they were able to save the kidney. Due to the surgery, he will have an ostomy bag for 3 months while his body heals. At this time, Russell is not able to lift more than 10 pounds and is unable to work.
On Friday, March 22nd, Russell came home from the hospital and is recovering from surgery.
Russell will be out of work for at least a few weeks and possibly longer. At their follow-up with the surgeon the first part of April, they will find out when he can return to work and what his limitations will be. During the weeks that he is out of work, Russell will not have an income, and as the main source of income for the family, this has been very stressful for him and his family.
