Come Together for Tiffany
Hello! My name is Kylie and I am the 21 year old daughter of Tiffany Widing. I’m reaching out today to share the love I have for my mom and to ask for the help and support our family needs. She is a fighter who would never ask for herself, but I see her struggle every day and I know how many people care for her the way that I do, so I am asking on her behalf.
After two years of fighting an aggressive infection, my mother, Tiffany, had to receive life saving surgery, and recently had both of her legs amputated above the knee. After the surgery we got the unfortunate news that she is not a candidate for prosthetics, like we were hoping. This means she will spend the rest of her life in her wheelchair, dependent on the help from others and home modifications.
This surgery was an impossible decision but she chose to fight and live, knowing when she woke up from surgery her life would be changed forever. I have never been prouder of my mother through these battles and I see her fighting and adapting every day. She has lead with such grace and resilience. However, with this choice comes extreme life changes and financial burdens. My grandparents have sacrificed so much to help take care of my mother during this transition in helping her to become independent again. Every day we learn something new on this journey, and the road to helping my mom become independent again has been financially difficult. Right now, we desperately need help to make their home accessible so she can move safely, regain her independence, and continue healing. Every ramp, modification, and piece of adaptive equipment makes a huge difference in her recovery and her ability to live with autonomy. In order for my mother to adapt to her new lifestyle, the measures needed are great and costly. Our family is already overwhelmed with this change and loss, and now we are struggling with the financial needs of necessary equipment to better my mother’s quality of life.
We’re asking for support. I am asking for support.
Whether through donations or sharing this fundraiser—to help us give Tiffany the safe, accessible home she deserves as she continues to rebuild her life.
Anything helps, and we are so grateful for every bit of kindness shown to our mom and family during this difficult time.
Let’s come together for my mom.
