Erika and Eddie aren't used to being the ones to have to ask for help. Its usually them helping others, but in today's America few families can get through an emergency like this without help from their community.

On Tuesday March 7th Eddie ended up in the emergency room with intestinal distress. After a very long process he was finally admitted to the hospital and they ran test after test. Finally by Friday they decided to go in and remove a section of small intestine. They had planned to do this laparoscopically, but instead discovered that he had a very rare issue, spontaneous perforation of meckel's diverticulum. This required the removal of 6 inches of intestine as well as his appendix! 

As the sole provider, as you could imagine, this has hit the family finances hard. He is working as an independent contractor, so that also means no health insurance to help cover a very unexpected and still piling up hospital bills. (Currently denied for State Assistance)

As of right now he is still in the hospital in recovery. His body is still in shock and having a hard time after his first ever surgery being such an intense one.
