I broke my back in 2018 (L5) which resulted in a herniated disk (L5 S1), and a bone spur that crushed my sciatic nerve left side. I continued to work without complaint. In December my epidural steroid shots quit working to ease the sciatic pain and I ultimately lost feeling in my left foot. The sciatic pain was so bad the only way to ease it was laying on my face. This resulted in me taking short term disability from my employer. There is a communication disconnect between my insurance and surgeons office resulting in me missing payments since April. My savings are gone, my credit cards are maxed out and my mortgage is late. I am married (15 years) and am raising 3 children (ages 13, 12, and almost 3). I have never been on unemployment, welfare, or disability (before this surgery). I do not ask for handouts but I am in a tough spot right now. I am selling my collection of coins and collectibles on ebay, trying to do handyman jobs around town, selling sports jerseys, all while trying to heal my back and get back to work. I do not drink or take drugs. I volunteer at my Church as a youth minister, I have coached youth sports for 10 years, i volunteer at food banks and many other places. I am a Christian man who has been praying and praying which led me to this site.
