Cornia Headstones
Facebook Page: Headstones for Cornia Family
Mary Ann Cornia died when she was 9 months old in 1923. She was laid to rest with her cousins in the Ivins Pioneer Cemetery near Bancroft, Idaho. Sometime between her burial and the 1990s, all of the grave markers in the cemetery were removed. The only physical marker of the graves is the fence that surrounds the plots. I have wanted to have markers placed on the graves ever since I learned about the missing markers in the 1990s.
The goal is to raise $930 to replace headstones on the graves.
The three cousins in the Ivan's Pioneer Cemetery: Eloisa, Vendel Paul and Mary Ann all Cornias. Eloisa and Vendel are grandchildren of Peter and Ruth Clarissa Cornia. Mary Ann is a great granddaughter of the same. Eloisa's father is Daniel Carter Cornia; Vendel's father is Enoch Cornia and Mary Ann is the granddaughter of John Melvin Cornia.

On May 21st, I was contacted by Ken Nelson, nephew of Eloisa Cornia who is buried next to Mary Ann. His side of the family was also interested in getting headstones for the cousins. They are moving forward with plans to get getting the headstones in place.
INFORMATION ON COST OF GRAVE STONES:
Each marker is 16”x 8” and slightly sloped about 25 degrees. The headstones will be placed on a 5 foot granite foundation. Cost is $620 for each headstone.

Cousin Vendel Paul is equally related to both sides of the family so we will split the cost of the 3rd marker for the Ivan's cemetery.
Total cost for Mary Ann's = $620 +310 for Vendel's = $930. The money will be sent to Ken Nelsen.
The headstones were ordered on June 5th and will take approximately 6 weeks. Please donate any monies that you are able for this cause. Thank you.
