Some of you may be aware, although many of you don't know the extent of the health complications Creek has dealt with following his kidney transplant in 2012. The technical term for the surgery needed is a Complex Abdominal Wall Repair. There have been multiple surgeries attempting to repair the damage caused to his abdomen by his transplant surgery. These attempts by local surgeons have not been able to permanently repair his abdominal wall, resulting in an ever enlarging hernia. A hernia of this type will not heal on its own. Without surgery Creek will continue to experience extreme pain of which pain medications do not bring relief. In addition a major concern is developing a mechanical obstruction which leads most commonly to sepsis and often death. Another serious and obvious concern is the strangulation and loss of his transplanted kidney. We all know what that means...

Recently the pain from this condition has become more significant and he's no longer able to ignore the pain so as to keep working and attending school full time. After several hospitalizations and finding that no local surgeons can undertake the surgeries that are needed to fix this permanently, we have reached out nationwide and come in contact with the lead surgeon at the University of Kentucky. We just received word that Dr Roth and his team are willing and confident they can perform this complex surgery and permanently repair Creek's abdominal wall. This is the miracle we have been hoping for!

This surgery is going to be expensive as Creek no longer has health insurance after being released from his last job for missing days because of medical issues. Travel to and from Kentucky, along with our stay before, during and after the surgery, and the lengthy amount of time Creek will be down for recovery and unable to work could be up to six months. This is not an elective surgery, nor is this for cosmetic purposes. Without this surgery not only is his quality of life diminishing because of the amount of pain he is experiencing, but the chances of complictions increase exponentially which could result in his loss of vital organs and death. 

This is a plea for support for your friend, your brother, your family member whom we all know doesn't always say much but genuinely supports and gives of himself above and beyond what is asked of him. It has taken quite some time and long conversations to convince Creek to let me create this page and ask for help. Please consider helping by donating to this fund, as much as you can spare, even if only a few dollars. We know the amount we are asking for seems excessive but the cost of the surgery has been estimated at $30,000.  I believe with the support of his brothers, friends and family that a large percentage of that can be raised for this life changing surgery for Creek.
