curbing streetism

I have been a volunteer and humanitarian for the past 6 years now. I believe the purpose of my existence is to help people who are suffering and save lives any time any place in the world. The focus is on Street Children. We must be the heroes of change in children's lives. In 2014 I visited West Africa on a vacation trip. While going about my trip i encountered lots of children who used to come to the gulf pitch to carry Gulf bags. From the conversation i had with most of them i realized these children are from poor families and mostly find themselves on the streets because their parents are poor and cannot take proper care of them. Some parents also neglect a bit older kids so as to be able to cater for younger ones due to financial problems. These children ends up in streets where they find solace and also struggle to fend for themselves. On my return back to the states i realized the need to lend a helping hand to support some of these children. i have been supporting most children with the support of a friend who has a dual citizenship to both Togo in west Africa and also an American citizen.

COVID-19 Pandemic has overwhelmed fragile health systems in low- and middle-income countries especially west Africa. defending children in the midst of this crisis means ensuring the availability and accessibility of life-saving supplies such as medicines, shelter and food. These children are vulnerable and would require extra support to provide enough shelter and food to help them during this pandemic. I have personally been funding but i believe with a little support, more vulnerable street children could be protected and saved,.

I count myself very lucky to be volunteer that is providing the basic needs for the most vulnerable people. I get a lot of satisfaction when I see children smile as they receive the basic things are deprived of in their current situation.

I hope i will get the needed support.

Thanks
