On March 8, 2025 the SoCal cycling, swimming, and triathlon communities began to mourn the unexpected and tragic loss of our dear friend, Dawn Niday. Dawn was adored and loved by many. She was our beloved adventurer and had an incredible passion for life! She was often the ring leader for many events such as annual camping trips to Death Valley National Park for cycling rides and point-to-point swims in the waters of Laguna Beach during the summer. The ocean was her playground and her happy place. When she was cycling or swimming you could truly see the pure joy it brought to her and, in turn, she brought this same joy to those around her. Dawn’s love and care for others found its expression in the many years she volunteered with the Challenged Athlete Foundation and the local summer Coveathons. She was truly a one-of-a-kind soul and we will carry her with us in our hearts. She is survived by her mother, Ina Niday, currently living in Arkansas. We are fundraising in support of her mom to help with costs associated with her passing, memorial fees, and costs to get her belongings to her Mom in Arkansas. Please consider donating in honor of Dawn’s life and showing Ina how much her daughter was loved.  Blessings, Hope and Peace to each of you.
