I literally have the worst slumlord in the history of slumlords. This man rented my family & I an apartment that was not supposed to be rented out according to the Health Department. First let me say that we would've never moved in if we had saw anything that made us think this apartment would start falling apart 3 months after moving in. The area I live in is definitely not the best but for the rent amount these landlords are charging we should not have to live with furnace issues, a leaking sitting room ceiling every time it rains(we live downstairs), black mold forming in bathroom(no matter how much we clean), master bedroom floor falling in, rodents & stray cats living under house causing major bug issue to the point we had to throw out most of our things. We paid this man 5 months plus security deposit in advance & he has had his maintenence men do nothing but very minor repairs. I have called the City Building Inspector who has issued citations that he has ignored. The Health Department has been on him since the last tenant & still he's done no major repairs. Now that he isn't getting any rent money he is taking us to court for non-payment. We just want to get out this apartment & into 1 that is up to par. Unfortunately I have to ask total strangers for help because I can no longer work due to medical reasons. SO PLEASE IF YOU CAN HELP MY FAMILY & I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT.
