Help a Single Dad Keep His Daughter Safe and Get to Her Appointments

My name is Tim Smith, and I’m a single dad doing everything I can to take care of my daughter and give her the life she deserves.

I’m currently in the process of getting SSI, and financially, things are extremely difficult right now. My daughter is developmentally disabled, and as her dad, one of my biggest responsibilities is making sure she can get to the medical care and appointments she needs.

Unfortunately, our vehicle is reaching the end of its life.

It currently has 339,244 miles on it.

I have depended on this vehicle for years, but I know I’m living on borrowed time with it. Every time we get in and drive somewhere, I worry about whether it will make it home. If it breaks down completely, I don't have another vehicle to fall back on.

My daughter and I have doctor appointments every week. We also need to get groceries, pick up necessities, handle errands, and take care of all the everyday things that require transportation. Losing our vehicle wouldn't just be an inconvenience. It would make an already difficult situation much harder for both of us.

I’m not asking for a new or expensive vehicle.

I’m not looking for something fancy. I don't care what it looks like. I don't care what year it is. I just need something dependable that will safely get my daughter and me from Point A to Point B.

As a father, it's difficult to ask strangers for help. I’ve always wanted to be able to handle things on my own. But right now, I have reached a point where I need to put my pride aside and ask for a helping hand.

Any amount would mean more to us than I can put into words. Even a small donation can help us get closer to having reliable transportation and some peace of mind.

And if you aren't able to donate, please consider sharing our fundraiser. A share could reach someone who is able to help, or someone who may know of a reliable used vehicle that could be donated or sold to us at an affordable price.

I’m simply trying to keep my daughter safe, get her where she needs to go, and make sure we can continue handling the basic necessities of everyday life.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Thank you for caring, for sharing, for donating, or even just for keeping us in your thoughts. Every bit of support means something to us.

With gratitude,

Tim Smith
