Disabled & In Urgent Need

Asking for help like this is incredibly difficult, but I have hit a point where I can no longer handle this financial crisis alone.

Over the past year, long-term unemployment and my own ongoing medical challenges have entirely drained my savings and retirement. For the last 10 months, my life has been a blur of family medical emergencies. When my mother was hospitalized and later placed in rehab, I spent nearly every day acting as her advocate—managing medical staff and protecting her interests. Since coming home, her health has required six emergency room visits and another hospitalization.

While I was recently approved for a state program to potentially get paid for a portion of her care, system updates and administrative delays have left the processing up in the air. I have no idea when—or if—that assistance will ever actually come, and because her health fluctuates, it will not be a dependable long-term income.

I want to be entirely honest: I live with an ongoing disability that requires monthly medical supplies out of pocket. Because my condition doesn’t limit three or more daily activities, I do not qualify for state disability income and have been repeatedly denied. My long-term goal is to build a remote or passive income stream from home that fits my health and transportation limits and rural location, but I cannot implement that strategy until I am physically well.

Right now, I am completely grounded. For the past month, I have been fighting a sudden, severe illness of my own that has not responded to medical treatment, leaving me unable to work or focus on income strategies.

With no current income, no local funding available, and utility providers that do not offer hardship extensions, I am in immediate danger of losing essential resources. I am on the verge of losing my phone line, my health insurance, and the critical monthly medical supplies I need just to manage my health.

Your donations will go directly toward keeping us afloat during this medical emergency. Specifically, funds will be used for:

  • Securing my monthly medical supplies for my ongoing condition.

  • Keeping my health insurance active so I can continue seeking treatment for this current illness, my ongoing disability, and any other health care services.

  • Paying past-due bills (phone, vital insurances, and utility balances) to keep my essential lifelines active.

  • Essential living expenses & survival buffer: To secure our basic needs (food, rent, and utilities) for the upcoming months, creating a temporary safety net so I can safely recover from my illness, care for my mother, and keep us housed and stable if the state agency delays drag on longer than expected.

If you are unable to donate, sharing this link with your network would mean the world to me.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story, and for your kindness and support during this incredibly heavy season.
