My husband and I are both disabled. He is a veteran. Since his stroke, colon cancer and aorta surgery we are no longer able to do things that we were passionate about like animal rescues. We recently moved to a quiet town. Within the first year, our hvac went out, kitchen sink leaks, my scooter broke, washer broke, someone totaled our car, a leak in the front yard that drove our water bill to over $800. They took $200 off when we got a person down the street to rig it. We can't afford a plumber. We are unable to pay this high of a water bill nor can we make payments with all the medical bills I'm paying now. We went to family assistance for help but they are unable to pay more than $125 on the water bill. We've been trying to wash our closes outside in a big bucket and in the bathtub. We cut off cable and internet. We've cut back on anything thats not a necessity. We try to do things on our own so not to take off someone else's table. Its just getting to be over our heads. Bills are piling up, groceries and hygiene that you can't get from a food bank are so expensive, gas for drs, even dr appts have gone up for specialist. Times are hard for everyone which makes asking even harder. We still feel blessed to have each other and a roof over our heads. Any help you can give is so deeply appreciated.
