Disabled/Homeless-Temp $$ Help
Hello, my name is Jane. More than anything I'd rather be the one helping others out which I've loved doing my whole life and never wanting nor expecting anything in return. I'm 56, disabled, very poor health and never thought I'd be in this position. Asking for help doesn't come easy. Even writing this is hard and embarrassing. For the past 3.7 months, I was renting a room from a woman in her Ft. Worth home. She had an unexpected family emergency arise and needed my room for her family member. I couldn't find a new place quick enough so she dropped me off at this nearby hotel I've been since October 2nd 2018. I've had to deplete all my savings to afford it here and what little SSDI I get monthly. I've been diligently looking elsewhere, calling all the resource numbers I've been given but I'm not getting helped. The general manager has been gracious towards my situation and lowered the rate to help me out. I didn't see this scenario coming and caught off guard. I've been doing the best I can even in my poor health. I'm hoping someone answers my ad for a room rental by Dec. 20th. I have only about $7 left. Thankfully, this place offers a full breakfast so I'm not hungry but my deadline is looming closer and I've been extremely worried. I don't have anyone to help or fall back on. I'm only needing temporary financial help to cover me until I get my benefits on Jan. 3rd 2019. I need only the 14 days from Dec. 20th to Jan. 3rd to make it. I know many others need help too. If I had my health this would be a piece of cake to handle. I have roughed it several times. Lived in a tent for 5 months in the desert area of NV after a total mobile home fire losing irreplaceables that still hurt (our dog and my mama cat) in 2007 but my health was okay. Doing all this figuring out isn't easy while my health is very poor and being disabled too. I'm grateful for those who have helped out thus far. I just wish it were I being the strong one helping and giving and not needing any help. I'm sorry I'm asking. If you can help in whatever way possible, I would be very thankful and grateful to you and hope if you need help with something that God sends someone your way to help you too.
Sincerely, J. Wood
