In my life so far, I have seen systems fail. I have seen them fail the families and their children that never came home. I have seen them fail to protect seniors from facing unfair eviction and homelessness. I have seen them fail to provide emergency funds to someone in need of basic necessities.

I could design a beautiful room, a house, a system, a process, and everyone exploits me and throws me away. I would like to think that I have been brought to this place with these skills and this knowledge for a reason bigger than myself.

Kicking someone when they are down seems to be the way our systems work. We can do better. I have lived it over the last several months and am now in a safe place for women. This beautiful, loving, safe facility for women escaping violence or facing homelessness needs supplies to make them feel more comfortable, more loved, seen and supported. I have recently decided that with the kind, loving support of people that can spare something small, I will donate my time and energy to the people that need it. Not those that want it and want to profit from it. Basic necessities like soap, shampoo/ conditioner, towels, laundry baskets, all things we take for granted on a daily basis. With any funds raised, these items will be purchased and donated directly to the facility in need. The volunteers and staff are wonderful and we can do better 💛🧡❤️
