Domestic Abuse Escape
I am trying to escape my husband who is a DOMESTIC ABUSER, both physically and mentally.
I need to get away. I need a safe space for my pets, for me, and my mental and physical health and safety.
I thought he was emotionally abusive mostly, until I saw this statistic: If a man punches walls, his partner has a 70% chance of being killed by him.
That's a scary statistic. I felt the hair stand up on my neck because I started remembering all the things he's done over the years around or to me, things I'd blocked out:
- punching walls
- crowding me while screaming at me
- dragging me into the bathroom to look at myself in the mirror
- grabbing my arm and pushing me away when I said "I'm calling the cops", and then falling down
- throwing my phone hard enough to chip plaster
- kicking down doors
- choking me
- throwing away my lunch (into the trash)
- ripping a necklace he bought me off my neck
- breaking dishes
- disappearing physically and/or emotionally for days at a time
- cheating--with women and men
- on and on
I need to get away. I can afford the rent, even high as it is, but I need first, last, movers, and a truck. I won't have a car when I leave but I can manage without.
My location and identity are hidden for obvious reasons. Leaving is when most women get hurt or killed. I have to be so very careful.
I'm in the midwest--I picked a zip code at random.
I have an anonymout gmail account: [email protected] .
The narcissistic abuse is so subtle, the coercive control is so insidious, you don't see it coming until it's on you and by then it's almost too late. He's super mean when he's spiraling, and scary with the behaviors. I can't detail anything he might recognize. I want to be miles down the road when he figures out I'm actually gone. It's the only safe way.
Please consider helping me. If you need more details, please contact me and I will email you privately.
I'm scared.
I'm not safe.
Please share.
Thank you.
