My life will forever be changed because I was abused through intimate partner violence. This happened to me from april 2023 through may 2024. I was strangled around 10 times, to the point of passing out. I suffered multiple repeated sessions of head traumas, as well many other acts of physical, emotional, and sexual violence. I did not call for help during that timeframe or receive medical care due to the manipulation of my abuser (smashed phones, using tuna as collateral, locking me out from things that could get me help).

Fast forward to may 2024, I was working in portland, oregon where I've lived for the past 4 years. My coworker (now boyfriend&caregiver) Artemis talked with me about the bruise on my nose that I had received the night prior. He helped me get the confidence to kick my abuser out of the apartment I had with them.

It took awhile but I did end up pursuing a criminal case against my abuser. This person who was on parole for assaulting their wife, was in a court mandated dv class. They were taking this class every Monday and were hurting me by Wednesday, if I was lucky, every single week. Despite my statements and the charges written up for assault 2 and many felonies against my abuser, the county denied my case. The charges were dropped and my heart shattered. My hope in the world immediately gone. Artemis is helping me compile all the evidence I have and we are planning on appealing. Regardless, life goes on.

After pending disability case, ptsd symptoms, emergency visits, syncopes, seizures, tbi rehabilitation, eviction notices, power shut offs, and my boyfriend being abused at the hospital and at work - it is now the end of june 2025. We each have an esa and many many house plants which helps.

The funding helping us cover rent and utilities for this year while we wait on unemployment & disability, ends on june 30th. Until we get a response (expected to be in september) from the low income housing waitlists, we do not have the funds to cover july and august expenses.

I will be having an ovary and other endo tissues removed on august 28th. Because it is such a delicate time and I truly feel lucky to be alive, I want to reach out to the community that I was once connected to. Any support at all helps.
