Dwyer House Fire Assistance
Hello, I am Sherry (Story) Dwyer and I am married to Butch Dwyer who is a retired police officer. His son Darryl Dwyer is married to Sarah (Bennett) Dwyer and their son is Aidan (AJ) Dwyer.
Sunday night, March 17, 2019, Darryl was in bed, and Sarah and Aidan on the couch about asleep when a Good Samaritan saw flames in one corner of the duplex they lived in and stoped to knock on the door to let them know about the flames. They quickly grabbed a few things and went out side. It seems the empty, other wide of the duplex is what was on fire, but smoke was seeping into their home.
The fire inspector said the roof/ceiling in our grandson's room would fall before morning and we need to get items out of the room or moved to the front of their home.l They were also told to remove any valuables, electronics and enough to get through a couple of days. Sarah's mom Cindy, Butch and myself, and Darryl's brother Aaron starting gather up what we could. Water started dripping through the ceiling over our grandsons room. The following day Darryl's mother Sylvia and her husband Robert helped us to get everything they could out.
Due to smoke and water, our grandson's bed, bookshelves and desk were ruined. Most of the living room items, the master box springs and mattress and some other small pieces were not salvageable. Kitchen items and food had to be tossed. They were able to salvage most of their clothes after 20 loads of wash and about 5 or more to go.
They have been displaced permanently from this home and will have to find another place.
This is hard for all of us to do but any donation to help them no matter how small will go a long way to getting them in their own place and replacing what was listed.
The Dwyers, Bennetts and Wolverton's thank you for your consideration.
