Education is important
Life happens fast and these last few months hit me like a semi truck (mack truck if you're old school)! I'm currently behind on my children's school tuition by just over $9700.00, I'm a US Army Combat Veteran who has had the same job for the last 16yrs but due to a divorce where my ex willingly gave up all responsibility of our children, my minivan needed a new engine and then as an added bonus my oldest daughters dental needs took priority to tuition as well (she has a genetic disorder where she doesn't produce enough enamel). My kids have been in the same school 6yrs and I've always kept up with it but this year personally has been a nightmare with everything happening at once. My oldest child graduates in May and is about to lose the opportunity to do it with his fellow students. I've worked my butt off in overtime to make sure my kids stay in private school due to the public ones around not providing a strong curriculum for some of my children as well as more personalized teaching with one child needing reading and speech assistance that this school provides. Trust me I understand that I could just save my money and put my kids in public school but in 6yrs I haven't been behind on a payment but all hell seemed to break loose all at once from July until November and I can only work so much overtime because I also need to parent my children and be there for them in general. I'm useless as a mother if I'm working 16hr days 4-5 days a week. I get it that this might sound like “first world problems” but you don't even understand the sacrifices I've made to give my children the best that I can, especially in education. Before turning to this platform I even considered taking out a loan but that would only give me more debt. If you're reading this and think you'd love to help but don't want to give that kind of money to one person not knowing if it will really go there, you're more than welcome to reach out to the school and give them the a donation directly. I won't publicly post their school name just like I won't post their photo for the safety of my children. Thank you so much for even taking the time to read and consider helping my 5 kids stay in their school that is like a second family to them, especially during a time of their dad leaving and giving up his relationship with them. Also not that it needs to be said but usually I'm the one donating and helping others. This is such an awkward situation for me but I refuse to let my kids know how much I've been struggling the last few months nor take my frustration out on them, which is why I turned here.
