This summer, June 7th-13th, I have been blessed with the opportunity to go with a team from my church on a mission trip to Eleuthera, Bahamas. We will travel to this town with a mission to serve the community, spread the love of Christ, and make more disciples of Him.

           During our time in Eleuthera, one of the main ways we will be serving is through restoring Camp Bahamas, a summer camp where kids from all over the Bahamas come to have fun, build community, and learn who Jesus is. Our team will be participating in work projects including painting buildings, pouring concrete, clearing out brush, scraping rust, building kayak racks, and more. Another way we will be serving in Eleuthera is through community outreach. We will venture into the community and spend time with the children there, playing games with them, spreading the love of Jesus, and telling them about the Gospel. We will also go on prayer walks, speaking to community members we come across and praying over them. We hope to create impactful relationships with the people of Eleuthera.

           Through much prayer and thought, I feel called to be a part of this trip because it provides an opportunity for me to spread Jesus’s name further across the nations and show the love of Jesus to people who may never have experienced His love before. This trip will allow me to make an impact on other people’s lives through Jesus, and plant a seed of hope and faith in their hearts. I also see this as an opportunity to learn from the community around me, meaning both my team and the Eleuthera community, and therefore come back impacted with stronger faith, selflessness, and joy of the Lord.

           The total cost of the trip is $1800, which includes travel, housing, meals, and supplies for our mission.
