Elia’s Eagle Scout Project

Hi everyone,

My name is Elia Garay, and I’m a Scout based in Hayward working toward earning my Eagle Scout rank—the highest achievement in Scouting. I’m incredibly thankful for everything Scouting has taught me, and I’m excited to give back to my community through my Eagle Project.

For my project, I’m partnering with a local wildlife conservation organization that rescues and rehabilitates birds of prey. They do amazing work caring for injured birds and helping them return to the wild.

I’ll be building a 10 ft × 20 ft screened enclosure, divided into two sections. This space will be used for birds that can’t be tethered, allowing them to safely take part in educational programs while still being able to move around naturally. This project will directly support the organization’s mission and outreach efforts.

I’ve received all the necessary approvals and plan to complete the project by April 25, 2026.

I’m currently raising funds to help cover the cost of materials. Any extra donations will go directly to the organization to support their ongoing work.
